Musician. Saxophonist. Composer

BIO
Born on April 4, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, Thomas “Tiger” Rogers discovered his passion for music early, inspired by both his church and formal training. His father gifted him a Yamaha alto saxophone in sixth grade, setting him on a lifelong journey of musical exploration. Trained under Wayne Miller of the Mississippi Symphony and later under jazz maestro Larry Panella at The University of Southern Mississippi, Tiger developed a signature sound—one he describes as “The Indigo Sound.”
A multi-instrumentalist with a deep-rooted love for jazz, gospel, and blues, Tiger has performed with legends like B.B. King, Bobby Rush, Cassandra Wilson, and Marty Stuart. His mastery of the saxophone—playing tenor, alto, soprano, and baritone—extends to the melodica, piano, penny whistle, pan flutes, and electronic wind instruments. Known for his innovative approach, he even plays multiple saxophones simultaneously, a skill born from his desire to create harmonies like a piano. “I obsessed over making harmonies on a woodwind instrument,” he shares.
As the youngest inductee into the Mississippi Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame (2011), Tiger has cemented his place as a modern jazz innovator. His latest album, Perspective, reflects his unique artistic vision. “Everyone has a perspective,” he says, “and this album expresses different emotions, like a story.”
Most recently, Tiger has traveled the world from Paris to Sweden, Norway to Scotland, Costa Rica to Rome and many other countries performing worldwide with the B.B. King All-Stars on Holland America cruise ships, Tiger remains committed to his mission: “My music is my life. My life is my ministry. My ministry is healing a hurt world through the power of music.”
